Monday's agriculture website - Agchat Foundation calendar contest

Share |
In case you don't know, I'm a founding board member of the Agchat Foundation. Currently, we are running a picture contest for our 2012 calendar, to be sold at a later date. First prize is a scholarship to our conference in August or an agnerd technology gift certificate! The top five places get a prize and the top 12 are included in the calendar. Below is a link to the contest, or you can go to the Agchat Foundation Facebook page contests tab to enter the contest as well. You have until this Sunday, June 19 to submit your entry. Voting starts June 20, so encourage your friends to come and help you win! Winners are announced July 19. Good luck!

Monday's agriculture article - Being an #agnerd

Share |
If you're followed me on twitter for any amount of time (@cowartandmore), you will know that I tweet A LOT. I tweet about art, agriculture, mom stuff, cooking, food, wine, sleep deprivation, car troubles, and oh yeah, being an agnerd. The article I'm sharing with you today is a guest post I wrote for the Agchat Foundation last week on What it Means to be an Agnerd. (and the nerdy glasses are optional)

By the way, if you want to read up on the agnerds that were at the South by Southwest Conference, you can do that here.

Join us at foodchat tomorrow night

Share |
Normally on Mondays, I share an agricultural website of interest with readers. Today, I am sharing the personal video invitation from Shaun Haney (@shaunhaney) to join the agriculture and foodie communities on twitter tomorrow night from 8 to 10 PM ET. Our topic of conversation is Christmas baking and should be a great evening to learn some new skills and pick up a recipe or two. Be sure to follow @foodchat and follow tweets with the #foodchat hashtag. (An even easier way to follow is to sign into tweetchat.com or twubs.com and enter foodchat as the hashtag you want to follow.) See you there!

Monday's agriculture website of interest: SXSW PANEL PICKER

Share |
Today's website of interest to the agriculture community is the SXSW panel picker. SXSW is a Texas based company that puts on events for the entertainment, music and social media communities. Why is this important to agriculture? The voting is open for readers to suggest and vote for groups to include in next year's social media conference. The AgChat Foundation has submitted their application and looks to have the farming community's voice heard! I encourage readers to vote for AgChat's inclusion in the program. Full information can be found on the AgChat website. By presenting at this conference, farmers will have their vision in front of other leaders in social media from Google, Microsoft, Apple, Twitter, and Facebook just to name a few. Please vote soon as the polls close August 27.
